Effect of Pollarding on Growth and Leaf Biomass Production of MoringaoliferiaLamin Arba MinchZuriyaWoreda, Southern Ethiopia

Moringa oleifera is native to northern India and planted in many parts of the world. In Ethiopia, little known about management silvicultural practices plant. The present study was conducted determine whether different cutting/pollarding heights affect yield growth at Arba Minch Zuriya Woreda, Southern Ethiopia from November 2016 September 2019. Two months old hardened twenty-five seedlings tree were 5m x plot a spacing 1mx1m. Four pollarding treatments/cutting (0.5m, 1.0m, 1.5m 2.0m) one control (un-pollarded) imposed after 12 planting using randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. Data collected 6 inner row individual trees each plot. on fresh dry weight leaf biomass per taken age 15, 18, 22, 26, 29 planting. Fresh wood number shoots rejuvenated also recorded. ANOVA employed analyze data. Cutting height affected shoot significantly (P < 0.05). A maximum plant recorded un-pollarded treatment (control). (P< Maximum (823g/tree) lower (0.5 meters) followed by 1.5 meters (729g/tree). lowest (268g/tree). minimum obtained 0.5-meter cutting (222g/tree) (73g/tree) respectively indicating importance for foliar production.
